Letter #2

 ¡Hola!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks, so sorry if this is kinda long.
It all started with a trip to the airport at 2:30 in the morning, which was an adventure, felt pretty bad for my parents driving. After saying bye to everybody, I went through security but forgot to leave my phone with my family, so I had to chuck it allll the way back over all the lines where dallie promptly dropped it😂

Anyways, after that I flew to Atlanta and met with some other missionaries going to Mexico City, and then we flew off to Mexico. There were what seemed like hundreds of missionaries in the airport there, it was awesome.

Mexico is super pretty, especially the CCM (Missionary Training Center). It sits between two mountains and the campus itself is gorgeous, they call it "The Garden of Eden" down here. As for the actual city, its not so pretty. There's an insane amount of people though, and the traffic is crazy. Imagine downtown Dallas with 2 stoplights, streets going every way but straight, and motorcycles and slugbugs everywhere. Let's just say it's a good thing they don't let the missionaries drive down here😅. The weather is also amazing, its been like 70 degress and less, quite the change from texas.

Everyone is super nice down here though, especially my district, we're like family already. Kind of a rough first day for everyone though, our district leader lost his key card and broke a plate, my comp's key broke in his closet, and two people in our district didn't show up until the middle of the night, it was hilarious/terrible.
Speaking of my comp, his name is Elder Anhder, and he's awesome. He's also like 6'6, so he dwarfs the rest of our district (especially me). Its awesome though, he's super cool, and a great missionary.

Classes have also been good, though they keep us so busy sometimes it's hard to pay attention. Our last class is from 6-9 and it's kinda terrible because by the time end of class rolls around we're all so tired that we just laugh at everything, it's kind of fun.

Last thing I wanted to talk about is the power of focusing on others. In a devotional this week, we watching a talk by Elder Bednar (if you don't know who that is you should totally find out, he's awesome) but he talked about the character of Christ, and how even in the hardest times of His life, He turned to others. While on the cross, rather than focusing on His own pain, he commanded his apostles to care for His mother. There are countless other examples of this, but I just wanted to testify that if you're going through a hard time, look for a way to help and serve others and you will be blessed.

Anyways, love you guys! Keep up the emails, I appreciate them, and if I haven't answered you yet I'll get to it I promise, it's been crazy. Until next week!
