Letter #45

Hey everyone!! It's been a little while, figured it was time for a little update!

Everything is going great here in San Rafael with Elder Cangalaya. Big news... we finally have a house (more or less)!!!πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ It's a second story studio apartment... so just a big square with a bathroom (and no sink but the bathroom sinkπŸ˜…) but we have AC so it's all chill, definitely a lot better than 2 45 minute travels to and from the area every day

Had three friends make the 45 minute trip to church with us this week!! Gotta say, you never really appreciate cars until you don't have one, count your blessingsπŸ˜…

Some other random experiences:
   - Had a really tough day, all of our lessons fell through, we walked for miles and miles and were exhausted and defeated. But, while waiting for our taxi in a park, we decided to talk with 1 more person, and he was super elegido!! We've met with him 3-4 times now, but it was a lesson that hard times are just preparing the way for miracles
   - Made some Lomo Saltado with my comp (super fire dish from PerΓΊ, pic below)
   - Our recent convert passed the sacrament the first time this past week!! Always such a cool experience to see

As for a spiritual thought, something that stood out to me in my studies have been Nephi and his prophecies and experiences. I loved reading 2 Nephi 27-29, it's insane how on-the-dot he prophesied our day, definitely reccomend reading those chapters. But lately, I especially loved these verses in Nephi:

1 Nephi 17:34-35
34 Do ye suppose that our fathers would have been more choice than they if they had been righteous? I say unto you, Nay.
35 Behold, the Lord esteemeth all flesh in one; he that is righteous is favored of God.

In this chapter, he was talking about the Jews and the Gentiles. These verses really caught my attention because I feel like today, we all compare and fight about who's "favored". It was a great reminder for me that it's actually really really simple. Do you want to be favored of God? Be righteous! Do good things! Read your scriptures, pray, and go to church! The Lord will bless you, I promise.

That's about it though! Enjoy the Easter season, hope you're all getting prepared for General Conference coming up!!

Les quiero!! Que tengan una buena semana

Elder Bagley
